So half of the foursome from Social Services Centre East are going off again! This time, Laura and Rhonda are heading to Germany, the Czech Republic, and Austria. They will be renewing friendships with a long ago roommate, more recent friends made on a trip to South Africa, and one of the Turkey gang! Looking forward to making fantastic memories and seeing the beauty of that area of the world. We'll keep you posted (excuse the pun). It has been a bit of touch and go as to whether this would actually happen due to unforseen ill health of Rhonda's mom. But, at the moment, it looks like a go. So, get ready to read of the new adventures of the EFACE Gals!

  1. Hey Laura: have a great time. Thanks for posting all your comments on our blog. We are in San Fran and home tomorrow (Friday). We are looking forward to sleeping in our bed. We will have to do a slide show when we get back. Travel safe and not too much beer!

  2. One of the best restaurants in Munich is the Augustinerkeller, but it's always been too pricy for me. However, I've eaten often at a place with a similar name on Marienplatz (city centre). Prestigious name, fewer bucks! I don't think I've had a bad meal in Munich, and certainly not bad beer; I hope you have the same experience. BTW, people who live in München are not munchkins.

  3. We have arrived! We are at Ines' apartment on a beautiful sunny 24 C day. Had a fast, safe and easy flight. So far, Rhonda and I are still on speaking terms. Haven't figured out how to sign in to the blog as myself so I have to comment rather than post. Just wanted you to know that all is okay in our world. Will post soon!

  7. Many years ago when I was in Munich, I stumbled across a "left-handed store" that specialises in (you guessed it) goods for left-handed people. That's the store where I bought Mark, then about 7, a pair of left-handed scissors. Those scissors, which had blades about 3 cm long, later got confiscated by an airport security person from Mark's backpack. However, if you're bored and looking for something to do in Munich, there's a gift idea for Mark. Just don't carry them home in your carry-on luggage! And I agree with Paul -- where are your posts? Slackers! You shouldn't be out sight-seeing -- you should be at the computer.

  8. Laura & Rhonda...I'm soooo thrilled to hear that you are off to Europe together again; although I would be lying if I said I wasn't also feeling a little sad and jealous not to be with you. Hope you have a fabulous time! Can't wait to read your next post and see some great pics. Love you gals.
